The Jablonski Horn
This horn was a commissioned piece. Completed in March of 2014, it was awarded the Blue Ribbon for Best Contemporary Engraved Powderhorn at the Honourable Company of Horners annual meeting and show in March 2014.

- On the inside curve there is a compass rosette, and a ribbon with the client’s last name on it.

- At the throat of the horn, I’ve engrailled the edge and then added some engraved flourishes. Although the engraving is small, there were lots of elements so it took a while to do.
- An artificial ivory medallion engraved with the USMC insigniais inlaid into the turned cherry butt plug
- I designed and executed this bottom band. It was very labor intensive but the result is worth the time.
- The young brave’s kill lies on its side amid the rocks at the side of a stream.
- The outside curve of the horn has an engraving of an young Indian who has taken a deer. His left hand rests on his kill and his right hand holds his rifle.
